Eizor Galil participated in an amazing tikun olam project. On Sunday November 16th, Eizor Galil brought about 25 kids and parents together to package and distribute boxes of food to the Jewish community of greater Philadelphia. Hundreds of volunteers gathered together at the JRA warehouse on Dutton Road to help feed the less fortunate and eat delicious bagels and cake. Distributors not only deliver boxes themselves, but they also learn some Russian phrases like "kak de-la" to further the connection of those receiving the boxes. Hopefully, you can join us next time and be a part of the action.

We hope you have all been enjoying your election day.

1. Peulaht Shichvah (Activity according to age group) happened this past Sunday, November 2nd. It took place in Mishkan Shalom.

we had a really good Peula, and we wish that more people could come. and we hope to see more of you in the next Ken Events!!

2. Eizor Galil will be participating in the JRA food drive taking place on Sunday November 16th. The JRA is an organization that utilizes monthly volunteer drives (such as the one we will be participating in) to distribute food packages to 2,500 low-income Jewish families in the area. The food drive will be from 10:00 AM until 11:30at which point we will be breaking off to distribute packages. Families are all encouraged to participate in this event together with Eizor Galil and the larger Philadelphia Jewish community! 3.Camp Galil get together event for Chanichim(campers)/ families and for prospective campers/families also on Sunday November 16th in New Hope PA. yes we know that it is conflicting with the JRA event, but in our eyes it is completing. Join us in Nee Hope for Israeli style Salad & some pizza and a special activity with our Israeli Shaliach Ron Alter. Sunday November 16th from Noon- 2:30 PM

4. You should all save the date for the Eizor Galil Hanukkah Sleepover, which is upcoming on the night of Saturday December 20th! It's gonna be alot of fun, with activities for both parents and children on the night of the 20th so you should all save the date! Further details will be announced as the date draws closer.

5. The week after that, on Friday December 26th, Nachshonim (movement members in the last 2 years of high school) will be leaving for Habonim Dror North America Winter Seminar from all over the country! This is a unique opportunity for post-MBI and older aged chanichim and madrichim to see their national kvutza and be a part of the national movement. Fall Seminar 2008

Just 10 days ago marked the first big eizor event in eizor Galil. 140 chanichim and 60 tzevet came to Camp Galil in Ottsville, PA to spend a shabbat reunited with old friends. Our attendees came not just from the greater Philadelphia area, but from New York and Washington D.C. as Na'aleh (The Habonim Dror camp in NY) attended our seminar as well. Friday evening we started singing our kabbalat shabbat songs as if we sang them at camp the week before. After a delicious dinner the chanichim found out who there tzevet was and they went off to their tzrifim to have some icebreakers. To end the evening we came back to the chadar ochel for rikud.
Saturday was filled with Shabbat chugim, peulah shichvah, and a special event known as "The great Olympics of Fall Seminar 2008" where teams competed in 11 events to defend their honors. As the day continued we finished with our per usual Saturday evening schedule of musical, havdallah, and a short medurah.
Sunday morning we departed from Galil and the giant trees who were starting to turn shades of red, orange, and yellow. Fall Seminar was just the first of many eizor galil events so stay tuned to the newsletter.

I hope everyone is eating there lunch outside today...it's beautiful weather and we hope to have the same weather at Fall Seminar! For those who have not registered yet, you will be happy to know that we have extended registration through sunday. Feel free to tell friends of yours because seminar is a great way for people who are curious about what the Habonim Dror Camp Galil community is like to experience what we do. They are more than welcome in our community. Read on to find out more:

1. Many of you have been asking about an Eizor Galil directory with all of the phone numbers, addresses, and e-mails of everyone in the Galil community. Well, it is in the works and as soon as it is finished, we will be sure to mail them out to each and every one of you.

2. Fall Seminar Registration has been extended. Since we want as many people there as possible, and we all live very busy and active lives, we are extending registration until Sunday, September 21st! For those that are new to the Galil/Habonim Dror community, Fall Seminar is a weekend back at Camp Galil in the lovely rural town of Ottsville, PA. The weekend will be filled with the smell and songs of shabbat, rikud at the basketball court, and lots more....we have to keep some things a surprise. Please sign up by clicking on the link below. Tell all your friends about it who are interested, it's never too early to start thinking about where to send your kids to camp next summer.

We are writing to you today with the answers to all of your questions. This is the moment you have all been waiting for (or at least the kids on this listserv)...read on to find out more:

1. Thank you to everyone who came out to the Art Museum for some intense rikud (Israeli Dancing), music, laughter, and an amazing view of the great city of Philadelphia. We truly appreciate the strong representation and I can assure you our Jewish community was aware of our presence and RUACH (Spirit/Energy). In total, we were about 40 people strong. Stay tuned for more rikud at the art museum to come.

2. Many of you have been asking about an Eizor Galil directory with all of the phone numbers, addresses, and e-mails of everyone in the Galil community. Well, it is in the works and as soon as it is finished, we will be sure to mail them out to each and every one of you.

3. As we are just starting our year, we are looking for a house, community center, or synagogue, preferably in the Cheltenham township, to host the annual Galil Merkaz where the staff is trained and receives the skills needed in order to be successful madrichim (counselors) in the Eizor. The space we are looking for should be able to fit about 20-30 people from Saturday night (after Shabbat) September 13th until mid to late afternoon on Sunday September 14th. If you or someone you know can help out with this, please e-mail rosheizor@gmail.com as soon as possible.

How wet was yesterday???? As one of the first groups walking down the Parkway during the Israel parade we were lucky to 'just' miss the rain and had a great time with our amazing float. If you have photos – please put them on our facebook group "camp Galil"! also – if anyone knows where did 150 green t-shirts go – let us know… (is it possible we gave them all away? Are there really 150 proud Galilnik's out there wearing our celebratory Israel 60 T-shirt? This is a collector's item, clearly…)

This was a great culmination for a great seminar and a great year. If you left some things on the JCC bus or in the Festival – please e-mail shaliach@galil.org .

We want to personally thank one fantastic individual – Alan Greenberg, one of our Camp Committee chairs, who took the time to plan and execute our float and made magic happen. Alan – we will make a special exception for you and let you sign up for Amelim next year, if you want. For real.

Todah Raba to the unbelievable Tzevet Eizor who's been planning and calling and caring and running peulot, and sometimes coming all the way from New-York or just from Yardley to get the Eizor going – your passion and commitment is what makes the Eizor.

Todah Raba to the awesome Ma'apilim (college students) who came from out of town and all across the country to help us run our seminars and activities. These are mainly Galil alums who worked or will work again this summer as Tzevet Machaneh, and we are very happy for every opportunity to see more of them.

Todah Raba to the Galil Camp committee and staff – particularly Sharon and Abbey – for their endless support and interest.

And finally – Todah Raba to all of YOU who came and shared with us this wonderful passed year. It has been a pleasure meeting you and we truly hope to see you again this summer at Galil or next year at our Fall seminar.

This is also the time to say L'Hitraot to two special groups of people:

First – our chanichim (campers) who will go this summer to Israel on MBI for over five weeks of fun, excitement and some good-old-fashioned-labor-Zionist-experience. We look forward to welcoming you back with much enthusiasm and interest as you take your first steps in becoming movement leaders!

And second – to our Madatz who are now finishing high-school and will spend the next year in Israel, through our Workshop program, getting to know Israeli society up-close and forming their Kvutza and Israel connection. We know that this will be a formative experience, and hope to hear from you as you go through it and all through next summer when you'll join our Tzevet Machaneh

We are very proud of you all and will miss you very much.

*Habonim Dror North America will be running an Israel trip this spring! This trip is intended for parents who have children who are of age to participate on our upcoming MBI and Workshop programs. This trip will take place *APRIL 29th to MAY 4th*. This is a unique opportunity to go to Israel , as it is just before the 60th Yom HaAtzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) and will be during Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Rememberance Day). This trip will include parents from all 7 Habonim camps, and is an amazing opportunity to understand more of what Habonim is actually doing. It also bears mentioning that this trip is heavily subsidized.

This year's trip will cost trip cost each participant is $200 plus airfare, which includes accommodations as well as meals and an excellent Israel experience! Jewish teens in Philadelphia are joining forces with SHARE, JRA, Mitzvah Food Project, Mazon, the Philadelphia Coalition againt Hunger for J-Serve 2008, in partnership with Global Youth Service Day to fight hunger in Philadelphia . The goal of J-Serve is to create an annual event around which the entire Jewish community can mobilize across denominational/movement lines. Possible projects include the JRA (sorting, packaging, and delivering food to those in need), planting the SHARE garden, painting a Mural, organzing a non-profit store, data entry, furniture rebuilding, advocacy, and more!

The city-wide Yizkor Ceremony of the Holocaust will take place on Sunday, May 4. The ceremony, consisting of survivors' stories, a march of the children, and a special presentation from Mark Talisman (President of the Project Judaica Foundation), is no doubt invaluable to our generation and the generations to come. Because it is getting more and more difficult to hear first-hand accounts of the Holocaust, the necessity for such a ceremony becomes increasingly important. The "Dorothy Freedman Memorial Conversation with a Survivor" Program which begins at 10:30 AM. This youth symposium will be followed by the youths' march to the ceremony's location.

Dear Eizor Galil,

Welcome to this week's edition of the Eizor newsletter!

We would like to focus your attention to a cause of which we have been recently made aware- this week's peulot shichva, followed by the Eizor-wide Fun Bowling activity are both centered on the education of and fundraising for the Jewish community of Uruguay. In light of their economic and social circumstances, Habonim Dror Uruguay has launched an effort to raise money and provide basic necessities for the country's extremely impoverished Jews. When HD Uruguay wrote to HDNA asking for our assistance, we felt it an honor and a mitzvah to be able to extend a helping hand.

This is an amazing opportunity to help Jews in need, and we feel passionate about working together with all of you to assist our friends across the equator.

Our Bowling event will be our first united effort to raise money to send to HD Uruguay for the Jewish Community of Uruguay. This means money for basic amenities, food, books, and transportation as well as funding for community events and the strengthening of the Jewish identity.

We hope that everyone benefits greatly from the peulot on Sunday, and that everyone gets a chance to make it to bowling!

5. Habonim Parents' Trip To Israel!!!
Habonim Dror North America will be running an Israel trip this spring! This trip is intended for parents who have children who are of age to participate on our upcoming MBI and Workshop programs. This trip will take place APRIL 29th to MAY 4th. This is a unique opportunity to go to Israel, as it is just before the 60th Yom HaAtzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) and will be during Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Rememberance Day). This trip will include parents from all 7 Habonim camps, and is an amazing opportunity to understand more of what Habonim is actually doing. It also bears mentioning that this trip is heavily subsidized. While a final price has not been set, last year's trip cost each participant about $400, which included airfare and accommodations as well as meals and an excellent Israel experience! If you have any further questions or are interested, please contact Michael Kanter at programs@habonimdror.org and he will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hello to everyone! Welcome to this edition of the Eizor Galil weekly newsletter! We have many exciting things ahead, so we'll get started without further ado.

1. New incentive grants for camp!

2. Peula Shichva For Bogrim THIS Sunday, February 10th
This coming Sunday, the Bogrim (10th grade) will be having a peula shichva (group activity). For information please contact Adi Inbar at shaliach@campgalil.org

3. Peula Shichva For Amelim to Bonim February 17th
On Sunday, February 17^th, the shkavot (age groups) Amelim/Chotrim, Sayarim and Bonim will have peulot shichva l’fi ken.

Peulat Shichva will be held in individual locations. As some of you may have heard, there was a fire at our usual location, the Germantown Jewish Center and therefore will not be in service for some time. So we need hosts!

If you can volunteer to host a peula, please email us at rosheizor@gmail.com.

Everyone should also be getting calls from the members of Tzevet Eizor Galil in the near future, so get ready!

4. Eizor Wide Fun Event- Sunday, February 24^th- SAVE THE DATE

Get together with the whole chevre! We are planning a big outing for the whole Eizor for Sunday afternoon and early evening. More information will follow- but be sure to save the date!

One of the most acclaimed Israeli singers, is coming to Philadelphia!

1. New Members on Mazkirut Eizor Galil!

We would like to welcome to our ranks Alon Hafri, a beloved Galil alum, and Ben Profeta, who just returned from the Habonim Dror semester program in Israel (Habo-U) and will be Rosh Chinuch at Galil this summer. Together with Shira, Adam and Adi, Mazkirut Eizor Galil is excited for this semester and hopes to meet each and every one of you in one of our events!

5. What Teenagers Can Do to Prevent Global Warming

The Deadline for 2007 contest submissions was February 1, 2008 – THANKS TO THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED.

Held on the night between December 8 & 9^th, over 50 Eizor Galil members of all shchavot enjoyed sufganiyot, wacky games (remember that human Hanukiyah?), indoor pool & an all-night-movie-marathon! The event was a huge success, and we want to thank all the tzevet for their work and commitment.

2. Registration for MBI & Workshop is now open!

We are happy to invite all 10^th graders to sign up to MBI - our unique movement experience in Israel during summer 2008, and our 12 ^th graders for our fantastic Gap year program – Workshop.

What's great about us is that we are a community. We know each other, and it's important to us that those who want to participate in MBI or Workshop will do so, regardless of monetary concerns. 3. MLK Day of Service, January 20 2008

Grades 7 – 12? Need Community Service hours? Want to do some good in the world?

Put on your Chultzot and Galil gear & join us in support of two great projects, during this important day:

> Caring Community Carnival @ the Haverford School

Between 1-5PM, volunteers will take part in running and escorting participants in a carnival of 'Variety – The Children's Charity'. Buses are provided from Ohev Shalom, Shir Ami, Kesher Israel, Temple Sinai & Gratz College.

> Restoring a Community Historical Monument @ The Sedgwick Theatre, Mt. Airy

Between 2-4PM, Eizor Galil, together with volunteers from Young Judaea, will help clean and organize the 'Sedgwick Theatre', one of the first Cinemas in Philadelphia, in preparation for the next Mega-Teen Event.

The whirlwind of Jewish Holidays has finally come and gone- Rosh Hashana, Yom Kuppur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah- we hope you celebrated well!

We wanted to clear a few things up for Fall Seminar- the BUSES from JCC Kaiserman on the mainline and Adath Jeshrun synagogue in Elkins Park locations will be leaving at 5:00 pm in order to make it to Camp Galil before Shabbat begins. 5:00 pm is the absolute earliest the bus companies can provide service for us.

Again: the bus in Elkins Park is leaving from ADATH JESHRUN SYNAGOGUE not Knesset Israel.

1. This year, Camp Na'aleh is joining Galil for our annual Fall Seminar!

As many of you know, Camp Galil is part of an international youth organization, Habonim Dror, which has seven machanot (camps) around the US and Canada. Our sister camp of the New York and New England area, Na'aleh, will be joining us for the first time in years at our upcoming Fall Seminar. We are very excited to join forces with the Na'aleh Rashei Eizor Jessie Karsif and Dara Silbermann for fun, excitement and a summer reunion! We will run some peulot (activities) separately, L'fi eizor, but some, like Rikud, Havdalah, and Kef peulah, will be together!

This means that there will be a large contingency of chanichim coming from the New York area this year, and there will be a full-fledged bus to boot.

The bus leaves on Friday at 4:30 pm and arrives on Sunday at around 12:45 pm.

4. Save the date ! First Peulat Shichvah at the Germantown Jewish Centre on October 28!

As you may remember from last year, every shichvah (age goup) has a group of madrichim (counselors) who will plan and run peulot for them at the Germantown Jewish Centre. Chanichim will find out who their madrichim are for this year at Fall Seminar!

All of the schavot will be having peulot around the same time in the afternoon and everything should finish around 5:00 PM.

The GJC is located at 400 West Ellet St., Philadelphia, PA 19119

We will give you more information about times when we get closer to the date of the peula. They will most likely be sometime between 2-5 PM.

Adam Mayer is a sophomore at Haverford College in Haverford, PA. He grew up at machaneh Gilboa (in California) and is a proud member of Workshop 55. He worked at Galil this summer, as well as in the Eizor last year. He is stepping in as co-Rosh Eizor along with Shira Laurence this year and is extremely excited about taking on a new kind
of leadership role and helping out Galil. He also enjoys poetry, sociology, and home-cooked meals.

Hello to all and shana tova. We hope you've all been doing well since
the end of camp. We here at Eizor Galil headquarters would like to
take a moment at this juncture in the year to introduce ourselves,
since you will be hearing from us a lot this year through this
listserv. We will be sending out weekly emails by listserv and updating this blog detailing upcomingevents both put on by us and in the surrounding community which we
will be supporting. Our listserv is our main method of

First off, an item of business. It has come to our attention that the
flyers we sent out with the registration info for Fall Seminar had the

Now, on to the good stuff. Following is a brief paragraph introducing

Dear Eizor Galil,

Thanks to all those who participated in the planning, implementation, and participation last Sunday for J-Serve 2007! We had a tremendous amount of kids come that day, a large chunk of whom are in Habonim Dror. Way to represent! It was a truly great day and everyone can attest to that fact.

Also, this Sunday is a very special day at Camp Galil. Parents and kids are invited to help fix up camp to make it look pretty for the summer. On that note, we will be putting a lot of effort into the garden that was started last year around this time by Madatz 2006. If you have any of the following items, you may bring them up with you on April 29th or over Spring Seminar:

9 tomato plants (4" pots)
9 cherry tomato plants (4" pots)
4 chamomile plants (4" pots)

Join us back up at Camp Galil for a day of fun, excitement, and labor! From We are going to be cleaning up Galil to make sure it maintains its beauty and in preparation for Camp this summer. Please join us from 11 AM to 2 PM at Camp (located at 146 Red Hill Rd., Ottsville, PA 18942). Bring dirty clothes so you can get the most enjoyment out of your labor. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy during your break!

One of our projects on this day will be preparing the gan (garden) for the summer. Madatz 2006 did a great job of beautifying machaneh and we want to continue in that tradition. If you would like to donate any gardening equipment (hoses, sets of plants, sprinklers, etc., please email Dvorah Horn at dvorahhorn@aol.com).

On Sunday, April 22, the entire Jewish community of Philadelphia is invited to Beth Sholom Congregation for the Yom HaZikaron Ceremony. From the advertisement:

On Yom Hazikaron the entire nation of Israel remembers its debt and expresses eternal gratitude to its sons and daughters who gave their lives for the achievement of the countries independence and its continued existence, and to those whose lives were taken through acts of terror.

1. Yom HaSho'ah Yizkor Project Ceremony on April 15

Youth from all over the city of Philadelphia are joining together to hear from a Holocaust survivor from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM on Sunday, April 15 at the Jewish Federation (2100 Arch St., Philadelphia, PA 19103). Chanichim and college students are invited to come and hear for yourselves the stories this survivor has to share about experiences in World War II.

After the program, the youth will attend a Memorial Ceremony at 1:00 PM at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 North Broad Street. Any and all members of the community are invited to join us there.

Two unique opportunities are coming soon to the Philadelphia area. On Sunday, April 15, teens will be able to participate in Yom HaSho'ah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with an interactive program designed to fit their interests. More information on that soon.

In addition, on Sunday, April 22, the entire Jewish community is invited to Beth Sholom Congregation for the Yom HaZikaron Ceremony. From the advertisement:

Dear Eizor Galil,

We hope you are not too disappointed with the Shabbat Dinner cancellation last Friday night. When it comes to our activities, we would rather you miss one and come to the rest instead of getting seriously injured slipping and sliding through snow. :)

In any case, the Bogrim had an amazing experience this past week in Washington, DC on PANIM's Jewish Civics Initiative seminar! They learned about different forms of service opportunities and had time on Capitol Hill in which they lobbied their representatives. Everyone agrees it was well worth it. For pictures, see here:

Potluck Shabbat Dinners will be held for Am/Chotrim and Sayarim in one location and for Tzofim and Bonim in another. We will be joining together for Rikud after dinner at Kol Ami Synagogye (8201 High School Rd., Elkins Park, PA 19027). Dinner begins at 7:30 PM at the two houses and all programming should end by 11:00 PM at Kol Ami Synagogue.

Bogrim, Post-MBI, and Post-Madatzim - get PUMPED to see your fellow kvutzah-mates from Mosh and Na'aleh because PURIMIFGASH 2007 is almost here! The weekend of March 2-4, Galil, Na'aleh, and Moshava will be descending on the Pearlstone Conference Center in Reisterstown, MD for a weekend of fun-filled hadracha adventures!

Change of plans: The bus will be leaving from the Germantown Jewish Centre (400 West Ellet St., Philadelphia, PA) at 3:30 PM. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to allow us to depart on time.

If you signed up to take a bus from New York City, it is leaving from the Central Office (114 West 26th St., New York, NY) at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 2.

The bus to the Germantown Jewish Centre should be returning on Sunday, March 4th, at around 1:00 PM.

The bus to the Central Office in New York City should be returning on Sunday, March 4th, at around 3:00 PM.

If your child is planning on being in Israel for any amount of time, there are many scholarships available. In Philadelphia, the Jewish Federation offers various programs, including the Passport to Israel program, that will match certain amounts of money committed towards future trips. 1. Ken Rikud every last Thursday of the month!

PARENTS AND CHANICHIM!!!!

Do you like Israeli dancing? Do you like Israelis who dance? Or do you just like people shaking their booties? Then this is for you!

We would like to invite all of Eizor Galil to participate in a new concept to us: Ken Rikud. For all those rakdans who love Israeli dancing there is a great weekly session in our area that we can all come together to enjoy what we do best. Don Schillinger, aka Dan Rakdan, runs an amazing program every Thursday at Adath Israel, bringing dancers of all ages together for one night of amazing fun and excitement.

With that in mind, we are officially designating every last Thursday of the month as Ken Rikud. We are going to head over to the Main Line to join Don and bringing the energy that only Eizor Galil has. In fact, with a good Galil crowd, he will make sure play some of our favorites - as well as teach new ones. While we're be there, dances will be primarily lines and circles.

For our next round of peulat shichva we will be hosted at the Germantown Jewish Centre! All of the schavot will be having peulot around the same time in the afternoon and everything should finish around 5:00 PM.

The weekend of March 2-4, Galil, Na'aleh, and Moshava will be descending on the Pearlstone Conference Center in Reisterstown, MD for a weekend of fun-filled hadracha adventures!

The bus down from Philadelphia will be leaving the Knesset Israel Synagogue (8339 Old York Rd., Elkins Park, PA 19027). We will let you know soon exactly WHEN it is leaving.

On Sunday, April 22, between 12:00-5:00 PM, the culmination of months of work will come together for J-SERVE, the annual Jewish teen day of service. Remember all the great times you had last November when Eizor Galil joined Jewish groups from around the Philadelphia region to help the Jewish Relief Agency pack food for hungry families? Well, you can duplicate that fun this February 11th when we return to working with them again! As before, we will be making food packages and delivering them to families in need who live in the Northeast Philadelphia region. The day will be begin at 10 AM and finish after all the packages are delivered. For directions to the JRA, please click on the following link:

Thank you to all those who came to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service last Sunday. It was an amazing experience and Habonim Dror Eizor Galil, in particular, showed some great ruach with the kids and families who were there. 1. Martin Luther King Day of Service on Sunday, January 14

Every year Habonim Dror Eizor Galil participates in the Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Haverford School, helping to run a carnival for members of the Variety Club. The Variety Club is an organization for mentally and physically disabled children to have fun and meaningful programming run for them. That's right! Want to get together with members of your national kvutzah in scenic Reisterstown, MD for a weekend of interesting peulot and fun fun fun? Then you should register for PuriMifgash! In our annual tradition, Mosh, Na'aleh, and Galil will get together on Mach 2-4, 2007 at the Pearlstone Retreat Center and have a great weekend together. Make sure to register by February 10th.

Dear Eizor Galil,

Well, Channukah is over and the New Year is upon us. 2007 will surely hold some great things in store for us and we look forward to sharing some time with you during the next year. As our own new year's resolution, we will make sure each Eizor event is better than ever and that you and your children will appreciate each one all the more!

Every year Habonim Dror Eizor Galil participates in the Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Haverford School, helping to run a carnival for members of the Variety Club. The Variety Club is an organization for mentally and physically disabled children to have fun and meaningful programming run for them. This is a continuing tradition and we hope to see many Habonim Dror Eizor Galil members come to it!

Hadag Nachash, one of the most successful and influential hip-hop bands from Israel will be leading a workshop for educators and teen professionals in the Philadelphia community who wish to explore the ways in which the current Israeli Cultural Esperience in general, and music in particular, can be brought into the educational process of shaping a Jewish Identity and "Ahavat Yisrael." The program will include open discussion with the band on their art, its use in educational settings, and a presentation of educational tools. Lunch will be served.

Chag sameach, Eizor Galil!

We in Eizor Galil would like to wish a happy and hearty Thanksgiving celebration to all families on the listserv. We hope you enjoy the familiarity of family and the comforts of a home-cooked (or home-purchased) meal over this holiday. We would like to take this moment to thank all of you for giving your time to come to our events and being a part of the Eizor Galil family.

On that note, as you sit down to your Thanksgiving dinners (which may actually begin before the sun sets at 4:32 PM today), we would like you to think of all the people you helped for this holiday by taking part in the Jewish Relief Agency food packing day last Sunday. Over 100 people came to represent Eizor Galil and we helped deliver food packages to over 2000 families in the Philadelphia area. We give a huge THANK YOU to all those who came out. Sh'ma! Listening to our Jewish Teens will be The Second Annual Greater Philadelphia Conference for Adolescent Educators and Youth Workers. Last year's conference was a great success, with a surprising 150 attendees. This year's conference promises to build on that foundation, including an engaging performance and a great line up of workshops.
